Mark your calendar for some free ice cream in Philadelphia tomorrow. That’s because to celebrate Spring and the warm days ahead (though it is unseasonably cool this week), the Häagen-Dazs brand is bringing back Free Cone Day on Tuesday, May 14 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Approximately 170 Häagen-Dazs Shops in 31 states and the District of Columbia will participate in Free Cone Day, meaning ice cream lovers nationwide can enjoy a complimentary scoop of their favorite flavor. This year, several new Häagen-Dazs Gelato flavors will also be available for customers to experience. They include:

Black Cherry Amaretto
Cappuccino
Sea Salt Caramel –

What is the offer? A free appetizer of Shrimp on the Barbie. You don’t need a coupon to get this freebie, although it is limited to one per table, per visit.

Free Chili at Red Robin if Hell Freezes Over

Everyone has offered to do something if and when hell freezes over. Well, now Red Robin restaurants have upped the ante and will be giving away free chili if hell freezes over.

That’s Hell, Michigan, a real place in that Midwest State.

According to Restaurant News, “If the temperature in Hell fails to rise above 32 degrees Fahrenheit on any given day between Tuesday, Feb. 19 and Sunday, Feb. 24, then Hell has officially frozen over! To celebrate, the gourmet burger expert will help guests warm up with a free cup of Red’s Chili Chili™ on Tuesday, Feb. 26.”

The catch? You have to be one of the first 100 to visit a local participating Red Robin on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in order to get this freebie.

Hey, Philly bagel lovers. Did you know that you could get free bagels this Saturday, Feb. 9? That’s because it is National Bagel Day and local Einstein Bros Bagels locations will be giving away free bagels.

All you need to do to get a free bagel and a schmear (that’s with cream cheese) is stop in to Einstein Bros Bagels on Saturday and order a cup of coffee.

The promotion will last all day on Saturday, Feb. 9, at participating locations or until supplies last.

Burger King buy one get one free sandwich deal is good now through Feb. 17, 2013.

According to Restaurant News, “[P]articipating Burger King restaurants will serve up the brand’s classic Original Chicken Sandwich and its popular specialty varieties, including the NEW Philly Original Chicken Sandwich and the popular Italian Original Chicken Sandwich, with an offer to Buy One sandwich, Get One of equal or lesser value for FREE.”

The chicken sandwich starts at $4.49 and the specialty sandwiches start at $4.29. You can find more details about this BOGO offer on the Burger King “Fresh Offers” page.

So while this is not a huge savings, it is a buy one get one free sandwich deal means free food nonetheless.

When I first heard about the program I thought there was a charitable arm to it. I mean the notion of Pay It Forward is doing good for others, so you can understand my confusion, right? But I guess the point here is this: by giving people free Restaurant.com eGift Cards that they can use at local restaurants, you are helping to support your local restaurant community.

Feed it Forward says that it has helped bring in more than $55 million in local dining experiences over the past four holiday seasons.And with the Shop Local movement in light of Sandy this year, this just might be a way to help bring business to local restaurants that need your patronage.
