Someone told me that Halloween is soon going to rival Christmas as far as big-time celebrations go. I believe it.
These days you’ll find people decorating their front yards as much for this spooky holiday as they do for the December holidays.
Right here in Philadelphia there are many different ways to celebrate Halloween on the cheap. Here are 3 worth looking into this month.
Halloween Pub Crawl
Halloweekend PubCrawl Philadelphia will feature some of the best bars in the city filled with ghouls, ghosts and goblins who are ready to celebrate with drink specials and other surprises. You have to get tickets in advance, and Goldstar has some dates where the tickets are actually FREE! These include Friday, October 26th, Saturday, October 27th, and Wednesday, October 31st.
The Haunting of Philly Party
Lucky Strike, Philadelphia’s unique combination of bowling alley, nightclub, bar and restaurant, presents their Haunting of Philly Halloween party. For $5 you can dress up in your most creative costume and prepare to party the night away. The Haunting of Philly is on Saturday, October 27th, at 9 p.m. Lucky Strike is located at 1336 Chestnut Street.
Terror Behind the Walls
Halloween in Philly isn’t complete without a terrifying visit to the Eastern State Penitentiary’s Terror Behind the Walls. While you’ll always save money by buying your tickets online, there are a few ways you can save even more on admission. For starters since Lukoil is a sponsor of the 2012 Terror Behind the Walls, if you visit a Lukoil in the Delaware Valley, you can ask for a $5 off coupon, while supplies last. Also, there is Student Sundays when students with ID get a discounted rate for admission after 9 p.m. on Sundays.
If you hear of other free and cheap spooky Halloween celebrations, let me know!
