5 Back to School Freebies in Philly

As you dive into back-to-school shopping, keep in mind that a number of retailers are throwing in back to school freebies to help American families who likely can’t afford to spend the $689 that the National Retail Federation says the average American family will spend this year.

Some retailers already gave away their freebies–as you know, Old Navy had a free backpack giveaway last week. This weekend, though, there are 5 back to school freebies that you can take advantage of, at national retailers, with locations in the Philly area.

1. Free iPad at Abercrombie and Fitch. Be sure to visit one of their retail locations on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday through September 2nd to enter to win on of the 1,000 free iPad tablet computers A&F is giving away.
2. Free Apple Gift Cards. You can earn free Apple gift cards in one of two ways. First, be a college student who buys a new Mac before September 21st, and you will get a free $100 Apple gift card. Or, buy a new iPad and get a free $50 Apple gift card.
3. Free Kids Haircuts at JC Penney. JC Penney is offering free kids’ haircuts during the month of August for kids entering kindergarten through 6th grade only. Be sure to make an appointment to secure your spot for a free haircut. Walk ins are not accepted.
4. Free Flu Shots and Health Screenings for Kids. K-Mart will give you a coupon for a free flu shot when you spend $100 in store by August 12th. Both CVS and Sam’s Club have free kids health screenings this weekend, on Saturday, August 11th.
5. Free Sunglasses at Aeropostale. Mention the code “BTSS” when you checkout at Aeropostale on Saturday, August 11th, and you’ll score a free pair of sunglasses–while supplies last.
