Engaged women who also happen to be in the military, listen up: Brides Across America is working with bridal salons across the country to give away free wedding gowns to military brides. In the Philadelphia area, those giveaways are occurring today, tomorrow (November 10th), and Friday (11/11/11 or Veterans Day).
To qualify, you must be engaged and planning a wedding in the near future and you yourself must be in the military and have been deployed in the past 5 years or about to be deployed; or your fiance must have been deployed in the past 5 years or about to be deployed. You will need to bring proof of deployment with you to the participating bridal salons. (You can read all the Brides Across America requirements here.)
Each salon sets aside a certain number of gowns–ranging in sizes from petite to plus–and gives them away on a first-come, first-served basis. So I would recommend getting to the salon early. Once the designated gowns are gone, the giveaway is over.
