Over on my Suddenly Frugal blog, today’s post focuses on missing money or unclaimed funds that people can easily locate (if they try) and cash in. Since readers in the Philadelphia area could potentially benefit from this information, I wanted to share how to track down missing money in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. (We found about $300 in my husband’s name, attached to an old address we had in the Keystone State!)

You’ll find links to more information in both states below. When you think about it, this is free money. Why wouldn’t you collect it?

In New Jersey: Contact the State of New Jersey Department of the Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Administration.

In Pennsylvania: Contact the Pennsylvania Treasury and search for “Unclaimed Property.”
