Kick-off this weekend’s Manayunk’s Eco Arts Festival (Sept. 23-25) in culinary and philanthropic style with a celebration of street food traditions at Eat Along the Street at Propper Brothers, 115 Levering Street in Manayunk on Wednesday, September 21st starting at 6 p.m.
This unique event brings together the city and region’s most exciting (and delicious!) food trucks and restaurants in a lively festival setting. Spectators can enjoy fresh-made fare and win gift certificates to top restaurants, cultural institutions and more.
Along with globally inspired cuisine, EATS will feature a friendly culinary competition where some of the region’s most exciting chefs will prepare scrumptious dishes with local ingredients reflecting authentic street food cuisine from around the world. For added thrill, a distinct panel of judges and VIP tasters will “throw down” their votes for the best bites of the night.
In partnership with Thailand’s Wat Bodd Voraditth orphanage, monies raised will go towards improving the lives of impoverished young people, with the ultimate goal of training them for culinary and hospitality careers.
In addition to the culinary competition and offerings, the event will also feature a Chinese-style auction featuring restaurant gift certificates, Phillies and Flyers tickets, cooking classes, theater tickets and many other exciting prizes.
